"A very smart, very shrewd movie...the brilliance of 'Down With Love' is that, without ever grossly stepping outside of its 1962 mind-set (say, with explicit or even implicit sex between the two principals), it's not just modern but also beyond the merely modern."
-- Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle. Read this review.

"'Down With Love' works wonderfully well as a re-creation of a more innocent time...but it's also a delightful romantic comedy on its own terms. These folks clearly had a lot of fun making this movie. Almost as much fun as you'll have watching it."
-- Eleanor Ringel Gillespie, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Read this review.

Starring Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor, this film is not only the funniest romantic comedy you are ever likely to encounter, but one of the most gorgeous and pleasant to watch. Painted in dazzlingly bright colors, it lacks the standard fare of gross-out gags and tired clichés in favor of clever satire, parody, and word-play at a breathless pace.

Zellweger plays Barbara Novak, the fashion-conscious author of the new bestseller "Down With Love," a step-by-step guide for women who want to rid themselves of their dependence upon love and marriage. Meanwhile, Catcher Block (McGregor) is the "ladies' man, man's man, man about town" whose popularity as a columnist for the men's magazine "Know" leads him to be overly self-centered, and yet still deliciously charming. Is it possible that these two people, who don't seem to believe in love, may find it in each other?

Whether you are a Down With Love girl, a ladies' man, or a hopeless romantic, and whether or not you plan to bring a date, see this beautiful film on the big screen, and you won't be disappointed!
