"It casts a spell strong enough that viewers won't want to look away."       -- Stephen Hunter, The Washington Post. Read this review.
"The overall visual imagery is terrifically effective, unsettling and eerie,
yet darkly beautiful."       -- Rich Cline, Film Threat. Read this review.
Spooky and scary, this stylish thriller from Hong Kong features utterly
convincing acting, a visual style that rivals the eeriest of thrillers, and
editing designed for maximum effect.
Mun has been blind since she was two, but a cornea transplant will allow
this girl, now twenty years old, to regain her sight. However, her new eyes are
unmistakably flawed in a most disturbing way. When she looks in the mirror,
she sees someone else's face. She sees other things too, which nobody else
can detect, and the only person who believes her is a little girl named
Ying-ying who is dying of cancer. We see much of this movie through Mun's
eyes, so we are also frightened by all the strangeness surrounding her.
In Chinese and Thai with English subtitles.
