"Peels away the male sexual ego to show both how fragile it is and how
powerful it is, how easily it can override logic and reason."       -- Jeffrey M. Anderson, The San Francisco Examiner. Read this review.
"A deceptively light story about the emptiness that drives people both
into each other's arms, and away from one another."       -- Leslie Camhi, The Village Voice. Read this review.
Jacques, a handsome middle-aged music engineer, has been married for fifteen
years when his wife suddenly leaves him for another man. His resulting
depression finds him alone in a hopelessly messy apartment, without a clue
what to do with himself. Vulnerable and desperate, he answers an ad for
a maid, never dreaming how young, beautiful, and available his new housekeeper
will be. Thus begins a sensual May-December
romance with plenty of enthusiastic
sex, but short on the emotional fulfillment that a middle-aged man
inevitably needs.
In French with English subtitles.
