Calendar Girls (2003)

This film is based upon the true story of the women of the Rylstone Women's
Institute in North Yorkshire. These women produced a calendar each year,
usually featuring picturesque scenes of the Yorkshire dales. However, in 1999,
one of the ladies' husbands fell ill with leukemia and passed away. In his
memory, these women decided to raise funds for Leukemia research by switching
their usual calendar for an alternative showcasing themselves as models...in
the nude! They were hoping to sell a few hundred copies around their villages,
but when word spread of this unusual celebration of middle-aged women's
liberated sensuality, the calendar became a worldwide sensation, out-selling
even those of Britney Spears and Cindy Crawford.
"A grown-up comedy that is warm, winning and sexy."
