A FREE Lecture by Henry Jenkins:
Photoshop for Democracy: Media and Campaign 2004
October 15, 2004 at 4:00pm in 32-123.
Campaign 2004 is turning into one of the closest elections in recent American history. Both parties, and many interested groups, are exploring ways that media -- new and old -- can be used to reach potential voters and
to rally their base. 2004 has already emerged as the year that the Internet
makes a big difference in American political culture, but we are also
seeing an unprecedented fusion between popular culture and political activism.
Henry Jenkins, the Director of the MIT Comparative Media Studies Program, speaks about his new book, Convergence Culture: Where Old and New Media
Intersect.
