Jaime Escalante (Edward James Olmos) is a mathematics teacher in a
school in a hispanic neighbourhood. Convinced that his students have
potential, he adopts unconventional teaching methods to try and turn
gang members and no-hopers into some of the country's top algebra and
calculus students. With an introduction by MIT Professor Amar Bose.

At the age of twelve, Karl Childers (Billy Bob Thornton) was placed in
a psychiatric hospital for the murder of his mother and her
lover. Now, twenty-five years later, he is released and returns to his

Trouble briefs when he meets Frank's mother and her abusive and
sometimes violent boyfriend. Nominated for two Academy Awards,
including Best Actor.

immoral and callous lovers - beautiful femme fatale housewife Phyllis
Dietrichson (Barbara Stanwyck) and cynical insurance salesman Walter
Neff (Fred MacMurray). Their meticulously crafted scheme to brutally
murder her husband will let them live happily on his insurance policy.

Kevin Smith's third and best film so far (following Clerks and
Mallrats), Chasing Amy is the story of Holden McNeil (Ben Affleck), a
liberal comic book artist who falls for Alyssa Jones (Joey Lauren
Adams), only to find out that she's a lesbian. Although they try to
maintain a platonic relationship, when she eventually falls for him,
Holden is forced to examine his hangups and try to understand the root
of his feelings. Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith reprise their roles as
Jay and Silent Bob.
