The Triads, a Chinese crime ring, set out to kill Los Angeles
policemen Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover)
after they try to shut down their operation. The two cops fight to
shut down the Triads with the classic Lethal Weapon brand of action
and humor plus the help of a new accomplice (Chris Rock). Also
stars Joe Pesci and Asian action sensation Jet Li.

An asteroid the size of Texas is on a collision course with Earth, and
only 18 days remain to impact. The solution is to land on the
asteroid, drill at least 800 feet into its surface, and detonate a
nuclear device within the core. NASA prepares to do just that, but
that none of the astronauts can reliably operate the drilling
equipment. However, expert driller Harry Stamper (Bruce Willis) and
his team of oil roughneck buddies offer to do the job. Stamper's
team is not exactly astronaut material, and a relationship between his
daughter and one of the oilmen (Ben Affleck) almost tears the team
apart. But Willis and company manage to overcome these setbacks, fly
out to the asteroid with drilling equipment and nukes, and save the
world to the accompaniment of rousing music, spectacular effects, and
plenty of hilarity.
