Pi (1998)
Maximillian Cohen is a youngm math scholar of a somewhat fanatical
disposition who is irrationally obsessed with the number pi. Cohen
has converted his dreary Chinatown apartment into a room-sized supercomputer
named Euclid in a desperate attempt to culminate his decade-long quest
to decode the numerical pattern beneath what he considers to be the ultimate
system of ordered chaos- the stock market. Meanwhile, rival groups are
watching him closely: a greedy Wall Street brokerage house intent on financial
domination, and a Kabbalah sect determined to unlock the secrets of an ancient
holy text.

Ever After (1998)
In this Cinderella fairytale set in 16th century France, Danielle (Drew
Barrymore) contentedly maintains her late father's farm while placating her
layabout stepmother (Angelica Huston) and stepsisters. When her financially
troubled stepmother sells a servant, forcing him to leave his wife and family
behind, Danielle disguises herself as a courtier to persuade the King of
France to release him. A chance meeting with the roguish prince ignites into
passion, but the stepmother, determined to see one of ther own daughters wed
the prince, will do qanything necessary to thwart the budding romance.
