Snake Eyes (1998)
Snake Eyes is a taut, claustrophobic thriller directed by Brian De Palma
and set entirely inside an Atlantic City hotel and sports arena complex. It
starts Nicolas Cage as not-so-straight Atlantic City plice detective Rick
Santoro, invited by his boyhood friend, Navy Commander Kevin Dunne (Gary
Sinese), to a front row seat at a championship fight where he is in charge of
security for the U.S. Secretary of Defense. When the Secretary is gunned down
in the middle of the fight, Santoro is forced to rise to the occasion to both
solve the crime and clear his friend's conscience.

Slums of Beverly Hills (1998)
Set in 1976, this film follows the misfortunes of financial failure Murray
Abramowitz (Alan Arkin), a single divorced father, as he tries to squeeze
himself and three kids into a one-bedroom apartment so that the kids can
attend school in Beverly Hills. Vivian (Natasha Lyonne) is his 15-year-old
daughter who discovers adolescence the hard way. If there is any possibility
for ambarrassment- and her exceptional breast development makes that a forgone
conclusion-she will find it. A wise-cracking, tough talking, surprisingly
practical woman, Vivian is put in charge of her daffy cousin Rita (Marisa
Tomei), who joins the family fresh out of rehab and just a teensy bit pregnant.
